Green Hands

The Green Hands Initiative empowers communities to plant trees, increase carbon sequestration, reduce heat-island effects, and improve local biodiversity. Each tree supports global efforts to combat climate change while creating healthier, greener spaces for all.
Follow this page for updates on the number of trees planted and the amount of CO₂ expected to be sequestered over the next 20 years. 🌱💚

EC4SDF – Chalhoub Tree Planting Event

🌿 Thank you for making an impact! 🌿

We are pleased to acknowledge that Chalhoub Group Team have planted 150 Jacaranda trees 🌳 at Al-Azhar University on 8 December 2025, as part of Chalhoub Group’s Sustainability Objectives.

These trees will contribute to a greener future by absorbing approximately between 3532.5 and 4800 kg of CO₂ over 20 years 🌍.

🌱 Together, we grow a more sustainable world. 🌳

Green Universities for a Better Future

🌿 Greener Universities, Brighter Future! 🌿

EC4SDF has conducted a successful Tree-Planting Campaign at the Faculty of Pharmacy – Alexandria University as part of the “Green Universities for a Better Future” project funded by the Small Grants Programme (GEF/SGP).

Within the Green Hands Initiative, we planted 300 Acacia trees on 25 February 2025—trees that will help absorb around 60 tons of CO₂ over the next 20 years, boosting resilience and environmental wellbeing.

🌱✨ Together, we’re growing sustainable universities and empowering greener academic communities! 🌱✨
