Chief Executive Officer

Eng. Sherif Abd Elrahim is the Chief Executive Officer of the Earth’s Climate for Sustainable Development Foundation (EC4SDF), a position he assumed in November 2024. With nearly two decades of experience in climate change policy, sustainable development, and international negotiations, Eng. Sherif is a recognized leader in environmental and climate action.

Prior to joining EC4SDF, Eng. Sherif held pivotal roles at the Egyptian Environmental Affairs Agency (EEAA), including Director General of the Climate Change Technology and Research Department and Head of the Central Department for Climate Change. His contributions have been instrumental in shaping Egypt's climate policies and commitments, notably through the development of the "2050 Climate Change Strategy," "National Communication to the UNFCCC," "Biennial Update Report," and "Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs)."

Eng. Sherif also served as Egypt's national focal point for the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), representing Egypt in key international forums. As Deputy Head of the Egyptian Delegation at multiple COP conferences, he demonstrated expertise in climate finance, adaptation, and mitigation, leading initiatives such as Egypt’s Green Bonds program and establishing a national Monitoring, Reporting, and Verification (MRV) system.

At EC4SDF, Eng. Sherif oversees a diverse range of programs and initiatives aimed at promoting climate justice, fostering green job creation, and supporting vulnerable communities affected by climate change. His leadership focuses on empowering marginalized groups, including women, youth, and rural populations, by integrating technology, renewable energy solutions, and smart agriculture into sustainable development strategies.

Eng. Sherif holds a distinguished reputation for his ability to navigate complex climate frameworks and build partnerships that drive impactful change. Under his guidance, EC4SDF continues to advance its mission of inclusive and sustainable growth, solidifying its role as a leading organization in climate resilience and environmental advocacy.
